First Holy Communion

The sacrament of First Holy Communion is an important tradition for catholic families and individuals. For Catholics, Holy Communion is the third of seven sacraments received. It occurs only after receiving Baptism, and once the person has reached the age of reason first confession must precede the first reception of the Eucharist. The order of sacraments is practiced universally by all Catholics. It was a joyous moment for our children at St. Anthony's Friary on 30th April . Around 108 children received JESUS for the first time in their lives. They were welcomed in the international family of Catholic Church. Around 37 Tamil speaking children of our parish received First Holy Communion during 7 AM Tamil mass, around 20 Kannada speaking children of our parish received First Holy Communion during 9 AM Kannada mass , and English 51 children received First Holy Communion during 11 AM English mass. We had a very meaningful ceremony in all the 3 languages .
